Geometry
My interest in geometry in abstraction began when I saw the works of Russian avant-garde artists – Kazimir Malevich, El Lissitzky, and others. I began to try my own hand at creating pieces when I gained enough control to paint between lines (with and without artist tape). I have been pursuing two related lines of work over the past year. The first inspired by a piece by Charles Green Shaw, is creating geometric shapes using an algorithm that combines non-intersecting lines with a series of triangles that resemble origami – “folds”. The second is creating connected shapes where all but one is single color, and one has both multiple colors and a different texture
